Caipirinha!

Here is the perfect drink for your celebration: caipirinha!

This classic brazilian drink is made of cachaça – a spirit made from sugar cane – limes, sugar and ice.  You can use vodka in place of cachaça (in some places this is called “caipiroska“) which is fine but it’s not the original drink.

Colorful Jello!

Here it is. My preferred and beloved dessert made in Brazil! This gelatin is wonderful. Very tasty, light if you use diet jello, and a must have for those reunions. Lots of stories I could tell you about this specialty… but I’ll just provide you the best way to achieve it: the recipe!




Tropeiro Beans!

Another classic recipe from Brazil.  Feijão Tropeiro, Tropeirão, or Trooper Beans (really?!) are a great suggestion for dinner or a nice lunch.

Back to Colonial period in Brazil this dish was created due to a cultural mix from the Portuguese, native Indians and African Americans. It’s made of farofa (made from manioc, cassava or yuca – all different names to similar potato roots), pork and rice. Awesome how the taste comes together! Enjoy it!

Broiled Picanha!

Picanha is a meat cut specialy done in Brazil. It’s traditional to have it on barbecues grilled on sea salt or with garlic salt.

The barbecue in Brazil is a very special meeting occasion. Some famous places as Schools of Samba or famous celebrities (soccer players, singers and artists) promote this parties once in a while for anniversaries and the like. But the grilling style is also very traditional to all population, usually held on someone’s house during weekends or holidays.
